Cesidio "Danny" DiValentino, 83, of Farmington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at the Hospital of Central CT. He was the husband of the late Lilli (Augsburger) DiValentino. Born in Abbeteggio, Italy, he was the son of the late Rocco and Carmela (Simone) DiValentino. Danny went to high school and lived in New Britain with his young family before moving to Farmington 46 years ago. Danny was formerly employed at the U.S. Post office in New Britain as a supervisor. He was proud of his service in the Army as a Military Policeman and was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge #957 in New Britain. He was a devoted member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church also in New Britain. Surviving Danny are his daughter, Karen McGown and her husband Michael of Norwalk; a brother, Benito DiValentino of Wolcott; two beloved grandchildren, Kali McGown and Justin McGown; and his Godchild, Irena Kruglik. He was predeceased by his son, Danny DiValentino, and by a sister and two brothers, Rose Nichols, Louis DiValentino, and Hugo DiValentino. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
