Castor E. Soto

Castor E. Soto, 52, of Kensington, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 30, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Born in Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of Carmen Soto of Kensington and the late Castor Soto.  He was a long time Kensington resident and was employed at Alternative Dental Laboratory in New Haven as a Dental Lab Technician for the past 27 years. Castor was a member of St. Mary’s Church in New Britain. He enjoyed fishing, yard work, working on restoring his GTO, watching the NY Mets and his two dogs, Pluto and Brandy.

Surviving are his loving mother, Carmen Soto; a daughter, Samantha Soto of Arizona; a brother, Edwin Soto Sr. and his wife Gloria of Kensington; a sister, Maribel Camacho and her husband Eddie of New Britain; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, cousins and great nieces and nephews.  In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Aracelio Soto.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary Church.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Calling hours are Thursday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
