Carmen L. Tirado

Carmen L. Tirado, 66, of New Britain, loving wife of Luis A. Tirado, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Angel Del Rio and Obdulia (Olivera) Del Rio. She was a New Britain resident since 1974 and was formerly employed in manufacturing and later as a Nurses Aid at the VNA Nursing Center in Hartford. She was a devoted member of Iglesia Cristo Redentor and will be greatly missed by her church family. Surviving are her husband, Luis A. Tirado; three son, Luis Tirado Jr., Angel Tirado, and Melvin Tirado; three step-children, Alicia, Selena and Justin; two brothers, Miguel Del Rio and Antonio Del Rio; and four grandchildren, Luis Tirado III, Alena Tirado, Angeline Tirado, and Brianna Tirado. She was predeceased by a sister, Maria Del Rio and by a grandchild, Angel Tirado. The family would like to thank Dr. Hoffman and staff, as well as the Hospice and V.N.A, for their compassionate and loving care. Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Wednesday at Iglesia Cristo Redentor from 7-9 PM and on Thursday at 10 AM at church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
