Carmen Ortiz

Carmen Ortiz, 75, of New Britain, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the Hospital For Special Care in New Britain. Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan Ortiz and Maria Ortiz. The most important part of Carmen's life was spending time with her family. Surviving are three sons, Jose Jimenez and Lucy Irizarry, Francisco Jimenez and Blanca Gonzales, Jorge Jordan and Maureen, all of New Britain; two daughters, Carmen Jimenez and Jose Rosado, and Mindy Jimenez, all of New Britain; nineteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margarita Ortiz, and a grandson, Chino. Carmen's family would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Hospital for Special Care for their extraordinary care. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
