Carlos Augusto Torres

Carlos Augusto Torres, 88, of New Britain passed away to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday October 11, 2024. He was born on December 5, 1935 in Maunabo, Puerto Rico. Carlos is the son of the late Agustin Torres and Cipriana Vazquez. He retired many years ago from Emhart Manufacturing in New Britain, CT. He served in many ways in the church as a co-pastor, deacon and teacher. He loved to read God’s word and was an avid student of the word. He enjoyed playing baseball, watching boxing and above all, spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his devotion, love and support for his family, church and friends.

Carlos was a loyal caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He was married to his late wife Carmen Iris Torres for 59 years. Carlos leaves behind his children, Carmen of New Britain, Edwin (Cindy) of Southington, Eric (girlfriend Dorothy) of New Britain, and Carlos (longtime girlfriend Matilda) of Plainville; his grandchildren, Lanice ,Erica, Jordan (Arden), Mike (Erin), Trey, Mason, and Alliyah; and his great grandchildren, Ceasar, Xavier, Emerie, Amaryllis, Delilah, Zynobia, Amari, Parker, Camryn, Carter and Ivy. Carlos also has several nieces and nephews he loves dearly. He also leaves his only surviving sister, Petra Torres from New Britain.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to the time of the service. Burial will follow the funeral service at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
