Carl W. Poglitsch, 86, formerly of Forestville, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at Skyview Manor in Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Agnes Bobroske Poglitsch. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Karl and Johanna Poglitsch. He was a former New Britain resident before moving to Forestville in 1952. Carl was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was formerly employed at Stanley Works for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Britain and the Donau Club. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Charleen Poglitsch of Wallingford; four sisters, Johanna Knaus of Southington, Margaret Woodstock of New Britain, Helen Terwilliger of Forestville, and Eleanor Budjos of New Britain; three grandchildren, Laurie Jambor, Scott Poglitsch and Brian Poglitsch; a great-granddaughter, Camryn Jambor; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Herman Poglitsch, and by two sisters, Stephie Wacker and Emma Halloran. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
