Carl D. Parent

Carl D. Parent, 56, of Berlin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Southington, he was the son of Jeannine (Cyr) and the late Phillip Parent. Carl has been a New Britain resident most of his life, moving to Berlin ten years ago.  He worked as a Master Fabricator for Cobra Cars for many years. Carl was a member of the St. Jean Baptiste Society, New Britain.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter Kayla Parent of East Haddam, two brothers Michael and Roger Parent, both of New Britain, four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruth and Albert Muratori of New Britain, Janet Marino of New Hampshire, Beverly and Leo Bragg of East Berlin, and Charlene Parent of New Britain. Carl was predeceased by his sister Betty Ann Parent.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 4, at 12 noon at Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill St., Berlin. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The family will gather and receive friends at the St. Jean Baptiste Society, 209 Smalley St., New Britain after the service. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
