Carl A. Lindelof Jr.

Carl A. Lindelof Jr., 87, of Farmington, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Carl A. Lindelof Sr. and Alma (Bjorklund) Lindelof. He was a former New Britain and Plainville resident before moving to Farmington. Carl was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was formerly employed at Stanley Tool in New Britain, retiring in 1987. After retiring, he drove for Meals on Wheels for many years. Carl loved the NY Yankees and was an avid UCONN Women's Basketball fan. Surviving are three daughters, Karen Rohrbach of Plainville, Eleanore Magnoli of Plainville, and Carla Bergman of New Britain; seven grandchildren, Kristin Chadha, Kerry Bunn, David Rohrbach, David Magnoli, Anthony Magnoli, Craig Desmarais, Suzanne Karelus; fifteen great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jai, Jack, Nicolas, Caroline, Brionna, Christian, Ethan, Amelia, Lillian, Derek, Taylor, Ava, Benjamin, and Nathan. He was predeceased by the mother of his daughters, Eleanor (Schardl) in 1986 and by his second wife, Shirley, who died in 1999. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial, with military honors, will be in Fairview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Friends who wish may make donations to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospice.
