Carl Hansen

Carl Hansen, 65, of Newington, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT.

Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Hans and Grace (Parkinson) Hansen.  Carl was a graduate of New Britain High School and was formerly employed at Pitney Bowes.  Carl was an avid musician and music educator.  He was a kind gentle soul who, in spite of his illness, was eternally optimistic.

Surviving are a brother, Eric Hansen and his wife Teriann Keene of Naples, Fl; his devoted friends and caregivers, Bill Mangan and Megan Ayers of New Britain; two sisters-in law, Carol Anderson Hansen of New Britain and Donna Hansen of New Britain; and many nieces and nephews, Thor Hansen of Bethel, VT, Dana Hansen of Woodstock, VT, Dawn Hansen-Pergakes of Sierra Madre, CA, Ryan Hansen of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Rhona Hansen of Ames, IA, Paula Hansen of New Britain, Jonathan Hansen of Ames, IA,  Adam Hansen of New Britain, Tammy Valk of Southington, and Marci Moskal of Southington.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a two brothers, Paul Hansen and Ron Hansen.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Dr., Suite 9A, Arlington, VA  22202.
