Carl R. Bjorklund

OBITUARY: Carl R. Bjorklund, 78, of New Britain, died Friday August 16, 2002. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Norton Bjorklund. Born in New Britain he was the son of the late Hilmer and Anna Freberg Bjorklund. Carl was a lifelong New Britain resident. He worked as a dispatcher for the Berlin Highway Department. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Carl was a former member of the Svea Social Club. He was the starter at Timberlin Golf course for many years and was in the Timberlin Mens Club. Carl is survived by his three sons Alan, Jay, and David Bjorklund, all of New Britain, a brother Paul Bjorklund of Stratford, and a sister June Larson of Vermont. He was predeceased by a brother Earl ''Sonny'' Bjorklund and two sisters Ruby Swanton and Violet Erdmann. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at 10:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to AMVETS, State of CT, 59 Cottage Rd., Enfield, CT 06082.
