Boghos Shamasian, 73, of New Britain, died Thursday at Connecticut Hospice of Branford. He was the beloved husband of Mary Simonian Shamasian. Born in Damascus, Syria, he was the son of the late Abraham and Simakul Shamasian. He brought his family to this country in 1974. Boghos was a machine operator for many years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Anna Shamasian of New Britain, three sons and daughters in law, Abraham and Joan Shamasian of Colchester, Hrant and Shogie Shammassian of Havertown, PA, Haik and Michele Shamasian of New Britain, three brothers, Gabriel Shamasian of France, Aram Shamasian of London, England, Hovenhas Shamasian of Syria, a sister Satinik Najarian of Syria, his grandchildren, Julie Gianesini and her husband Peter, Paul, Berje, Marc, Tamar, Morgan, and Sean Shamasian. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church, 167 Tremont St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
