Blaize Gallo, 86, of New Britain, beloved husband of Theresa Gallo, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, January 18, 2013. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Paul S. Gallo and Helena (DePasquale) Gallo. He was a former Wethersfield resident and a New Britain resident since 1954. Blaize was a US Army Veteran of World War II and was formerly employed as a Sales Representative at Hartford Electric Supply Co. and Charles K. Barton Associates. After retirement, he enjoyed working during the summers at Tunxis Plantation Golf Course in Farmington. He was a member of St. Ann's Church and was a dedicated volunteer for the Fr. Malley Golf Tournament at church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree. Blaize enjoyed many projects around his home, including furniture refinishing. He was an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed UCONN Basketball. Surviving are his beloved wife, Theresa (DeMichele) Gallo; his loving children, Mary Ann Gallo and her partner Gary Jacques of Sturbridge, MA; and Paul Gallo of Goshen; a sister-in-law, Rose DaMico of New Britain; and his nieces and nephews, Honorable Thomas P. Miano of Wethersfield, Thomas and Katherine Grimaldi and their daughter Gianna, James DaMico, Joseph and Darlene DaMico of Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Church. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Ann's Church.
