Bienvenido Sanchez

Bienvenido "Ben" Sanchez, 72, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at a local convalescent home. He was the beloved husband of Anilda (Martinez) Sanchez. Born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Estaban and Flora (Adorno) Sanchez. Ben was a long time New Britain resident and worked for the Housing Authority as a Commissioner for many years, and also for various organizations to improve the quality of life for low income families. He was a member of the Spanish Church of Christ, Ellis St., New Britain. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, William Sanchez of Florida, Thomas Sanchez of Brooklyn, NY, Rafael Sanchez of New Britain, his daughter Mildred Moreno of Atlanta, GA, three sisters Delia and Rosa, both of Puerto Rico and Carmen Rosa of Staten Island, NY, his grandchildren, Aaron, Nathaniel, Yahaira, Thomas, Jr., and Angellys Marie Sanchez, Crystal, Jennie and Adrianna Navarro, Angelo Moreno, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday evening, August 27 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
