Bertrand Joseph Cote, 74, of Berlin, husband of Carmelle Plourde Cote, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 11, 2008 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late Willie and Antonia Morin Cote. He was a former New Britain resident and a Berlin resident since 1962. Bertrand was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was formerly employed as a salesman at several stores, including Bernies T.V. and Appliance and Lechmere. In addition to his wife Carmelle, he is survived by four sons, Timothy Cote of Hartford, Ted Cote of Berlin, Thomas Cote and his wife Leslie of Meriden, Terrence Cote and his wife Susann of Columbia; nine brothers and sister, Larry Cote, Gloria Raymond, Clifford Cote, Gerry Cote, Camille Cote, Noella Langlois, Stephen Cote, Diane Cote, and Brian Cote; four grandchildren, Thomas, Rebecca, Jillian and Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
