Bertil M. Abrahamson

Bertil M. Abrahamson, 96, of Cromwell, CT formerly of Springfield, died December 18, 2005, in Middletown, CT. He was the husband of the late Glennie Peterson Abrahamson Born in Lysekil, Sweden, to Axel and Ellen Peterson Abrahamson, he came to the United States in 1927 at the age of eighteen. He was employed at the Florence Casket Company of North Hampton, MA, until 1944. He moved to Springfield, to work in the armory for the war effort. After the war he was employed by the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company of Springfield, Massachusetts, from which he retired. In 1989, Bert and Glennie moved to Covenant Village in Cromwell He is survived by his two sons and their spouses: Jon and his wife, Charlene, of Hampden, MA, and Paul and his wife, Priscilla, of Riverside, RI; his sister in Sweden, Meriam Carlson; five grandchildren: Karen Larson, Lisa Lederer, Rebecca Tkachuk, Andrew Abrahamson, and Sara Jenkins-Sutton; and six great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Ellie, Harrison, Isabel, Katie, and Jenna. He was predeceased by a daughter, Karin A memorial service will be held at Pilgrim Manor Chapel, Cromwell, CT, on December 28, 2005, at 2:00 pm.
