Bernadette Jones

Bernadette Jones, 47, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015 at the Hospital of Central CT. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was a long time New Britain resident and was a member of Bethesda Apostolic Church. Bernadette was comedian and known for her humor. Surviving are two sons, Javon Jones and Kyle Jones, both of New Britain; two daughters, Trineane M. Peterson and Asianna D. Peterson, both of New Britain; her mother, Luvina Jones of Newington; her special friend, Wallace Peterson; one brother, Michael G. Swinton, of New York, NY; four sisters, Evette Ellis of Brooklyn, NY, Michelle Jones and Melinda Jones, both of New Britain, and Ruth Swinton-Lewis and her husband Robert Lewis of East Hartford; two step-sisters, Annette and Charlene, and a step-brother, Lenny Swinton, all of New York; four grandsons, Carmello Jones, Nicholas Jones, Nathan Jones, and Jayden Jones; and two granddaughters, Kyra Jones and Kaylani Jones. Bernadette was predeceased by her father, George M. Guilford and a brother, James Ellis. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Bethesda Apostolic Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
