Bernadette M. Brolin, 90, of Torrington, formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Sunday. She was the widow of Carl W. Brolin. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Helen (Scipio) Moore. Bernadette was a New Britain resident most of her life, moving to Torrington in 2001. She was a member of USS Bunker Hill Women's Association, a former Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother. Bernadette worked as a Sales Associate at JC Penney for many years, retiring in 1991. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl R. and Janice Brolin of Torrington, Kenneth W. and Cynthia Brolin of Chester, VA, her sister Audrey Houston of New York, her granddaughter, Lori Brolin-Zizza and her husband Michael of Fort Myers, FL, six great grandchildren, Ryan, Colin and Liam Baca, Lena, Gino, and Mia Zizza and many nieces and nephews. Bernadette was predeceased by her daughters, Audrey and Bernadette Brolin and her granddaughter Lisa A. Baca. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church, New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
