Barbara Norton Labieniec, 76, of Plantsville, died Wednesday at Conn. Hospice in Branford after a long illness. She was the widow of Leonard Labieniec. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Margaret Ruth Denton Norton. Barbara worked at the Aetna Insurance Co. for many years, retired from there, and then worked part time for the Hartford Insurance Co. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Barbara loved art, music and reading. She was loved by all who knew her and leaves the world a better place. Surviving are her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daniel Labieniec of Plantsville, Tom and Lori Labieniec of Phoenix, AZ, two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and David Pintel of Columbia, MO, Michelle Labieniec Despard and her husband Eric of Pownal, VT, three grandchildren, Emily and Ben Pintel, Liam Despard, her sister Judy Norton Devito and her husband Anthony of Collinsville, two step grandchildren, Adrian Stinson and Lauren Bush, two great grandchildren, Julianna and Mary Stinson, and several nieces and nephews that she was very close to. A sister, Dorothy Jane Bjorklund and a brother-in-law Carl Bjorklund predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made the Conn.
