Barbara A. Hedenberg

Barbara A. Hedenberg, 93 of Cromwell passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital.

Barbara was born in New Britain, CT on February 25, 1930 to the late Hilding and Lillian (Ronstrom) Hedenberg.  She was a former New Britain and Southington resident, moving to Covenant Living of Cromwell in 2002.  Barbara graduated from New Britain High School.  She was a formerly employed by New Britain Bank and Trust, Fafnir Bearing Company, and Covenant Living of Cromwell.

Barbara loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Bethany Covenant Church.  She served in a variety of positions, including Sunday School Teacher, Youth Counselor, Assistant Secretary, Financial Secretary, as well as volunteer in the church office. She was an avid reader of the Bible and spent every day reading and studying.  She also enjoyed watching many TV evangelists.

Barbara loved to travel and enjoyed many trips over the years traveling to various Caribbean islands, as well as England, Germany, and her favorite trip, Israel.

Barbara is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Pat Hedenberg of Putnam, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2023 at 11 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.  Peace be to her memory.
