Barbara Ann Bartley

Barbara Ann Bartley, 77, of New Britain, wife of Arthur Bartley, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Mary Jane Medcalfe McCurry. She graduated from Manchester High School and the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She was employed as a Registered Nurse and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, Arthur A. Bartley; two daughters, Deborah J. Marturano and her husband James of Berlin and Susan L. Gilbert and her husband Andrew of West Hartford. a son, Arthur A. Bartley, Jr. and his wife Sandra of New Britain; three brothers, Samuel McCurry and his wife Nancy of Manchester, John McCurry and his wife Shirley of Laguna Woods, CA, and Dr. William McCurry of Cathedral City, CA and his former wife Lea McCurry of Arizona; a sister, Elizabeth Ritchie and her husband E. Roger Ritchie of Manchester; six grandchildren, Jason Marturano, Tom Marturano and his wife Megan, Andrew, James and Emily Gilbert, and Taylor L. Bartley; two step-grandchildren, Danielle and Andrew Saucier; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Ann Bartley. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
