Avedis Harold Kevorkian, 77, of New Britain, husband of Alice Kouyumjian Kevorkian, died Saturday, June 19, 2004. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late George and Hiaganoush Kevorkian. He was a life-long New Britain resident and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. He was a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection and was a member and past president of New Britain Local NALC. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his wife Alice, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Deborah Kevorkian of New Britain; two daughters and a son-in-law, Hasmig and Joseph Cannata, and Marie Gleason-Kevorkian, all of New Britain; two sisters, Marion Kevorkian of New Britain and Henrietta Jason of Manchester; and ten grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael, Matthew, and Katie Cannata; Scott, Keith, and Daniel Kevorkian;, Tara, Eric, and Jonathan Gleason. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. and at 12 Noon at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
