Audrey Lynne Brolin, 47, of Plainville, formerly of New Britain, went to be with her Lord peacefully with her beloved family by her side on June 26, 2010 at the home of her brother in Torrington. She had fought a 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer with dignity and a Faithful heart. Audrey was born in New Britain on March 8, 1963 to Bernadette Moore Brolin and the late Carl W. Brolin. She graduated from New Britain High School in 1981 and attended CCSU in New Britain. Audrey had a profound talent playing the piano and organ, which lead her talents to First Lutheran Church, in New Britain, as their church organist, playing for the CT Cabaret Theatre, in Berlin, then for the past 10 years as the Minister of Music at Grace Baptist Church, in Bristol. While working at Grace Baptist she also worked the past 10 years at JP Jewelers in Plainville. Her talent with people, the ability to teach and be the best she could be made her very successful at whatever endeavor she took on. In addition to her mother, Bernadette Brolin, Audrey leaves behind her two brothers, Carl R Brolin and his wife Janice of Torrington, Kenneth W Brolin and his wife Cynthia of Chester, Virginia; her niece and Godchild Lori Zizza and Michael Zizza of Florida; nephews, Ryan, Colin and Liam Baca of Torrington, Gino Zizza of FL; nieces, Lena and Mia Zizza. Her nieces and nephews were the joy of her life and the love they showed her was unmatched by any other. She also leaves Aunt Audrey Houston, NY, NY and many cousins and dear friends. Very special bosses Mary and Joseph Polumbo who gave with their hearts more then any boss would even think to give, and Pastor Barry Clifton and those at Grace Baptist who became her second family. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr Debra Brant, KK, Diane and others at the Center for Cancer Care in Torrington. With their loving care, concern and respect it made a difficult time more acceptable to go through. As Pastor Barry wrote.......There are souls that touch you and change you for the good. You cross their paths and you are uplifted. Inspired. Ennobled. Audrey is such a soul. Some say her gift is her music. For more than a decade, she has brought heaven's harmonies into the experience of worship at Grace Baptist in Bristol. Musical theaters around Connecticut have been enriched by her exquisite talent and professionalism. Some say her gift is her humor. After all, she is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan so she's gotten the last laugh six different times, as she liked to remind everyone. Some say her gift is her warmth. She parcels out smiles like snowflakes and hugs like candy. Children glom onto her. Poodles love her. She can make the sternest baritone crack a smile. Some say her gift is her faith. Years ago she ran in Jesus' arms and hasn't let go - though heartache and disappointment have often tried to pry her loose from Him. With all of this to say, her gift is her life! A wake and celebration of her life will be held Wed, June 30, from 5-8, at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home at 411 South Main St, New Britain. Funeral service will be held on Thurs, July 1, at Grace Baptist, 737 King St., Bristol, CT at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
