Asuncion Pizarro Correa, 73, of New Britain, beloved wife of Fermin Correa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2005. Born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Pazzarro and Emilia Santiago. She was a New Britain resident for the past 2 years. Asuncion was formerly employed in the New York City public school system. She was a member of St. Mary church and was a former member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church in New York. In addition to her husband Fermin, she is survived by a two daughters, Jeannette Correa of Cal. And Lynette Correa of New Britain; a son, Fermin Correa Jr. of Cal.; a daughter-in-law, Jenny Correa of New Britain; two sisters, Flor Pizzarro and Gloria Pizzarro; nine grandchildren, Alberto Miguel Correa, Nicolas Julian Correa, Taimyra Correa, Charlotte Martinez, Xiara Correa, Alex Correa, Austin Martinez, Fermin Correa III, Vincent Correa; one great-grandchild on the way, Joshua Elias Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Albert Correa and Leslie Correa, a brother, Ediberto Pizzarro, and by two sisters, Josephine Pizzarro and Virginia Pizzarro. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday today from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
