Arthur "Dave" Durity, 71, of East Berlin, died peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2008 after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Patricia Bodach Durity. Born in Berlin, he was the son of the late Arthur and Irene Case Durity. Retired from SNET Company, he loved fishing and boating on Ingham Pond, in Maine. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the UCONN Women's Basketball. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #68. In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by four sons, Arthur Durity and his wife Melissa of Thomaston, ME, David Durity, Darryl Durity and Clifton Durity, all of Berlin; a granddaughter, Brandi, two grandsons, Derrick and Daniel, a step grandson, Michael; and a sister, Beverly Suyematsu of Cape Cod, MA. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church of East Berlin. Burial will be in Wilcox Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.
