Arthur Anthony Brandolini, 82, a life long resident of New Britain, died Monday, April 16, 2007 at Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elsie DiDonato Brandolini, his caring daughter, Barbara Koetter and her husband Frederick of San Diego, CA, and his grandson and the love of his life, Ricky Koetter. Also surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Albert Mattarocci of Newington; many nieces and nephews; and extended family in Italy. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Anthony and Ann Forestandi Brandolini. Upon graduation fro m New Britain High School, Arthur entered the US Army and served during WWII in the European Theater, and was a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. He was formerly employed as a plumber and was instrumental in organizing the Local Union 256. He was later employed as an inspector by the State of Connecticut and was an instructor at E.C. Goodwin Technical School and Kaynor Technical School in Waterbury. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Elks Lodge #957 for 22 years, a life member of VFW Post 511. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12 Noon at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday morning from 10:15 to 11:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sarcoma Research Foundation at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 750, New York, NY 10131-0304.
