Arnold E. Klukas, 81, of New Britain, died peacefully on Friday, March 19, 2004 at New Britain General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Dowling Klukas Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Martin and Emilia Schmidt Klukas. He was a life long New Britain resident and was formerly employed as the Manager of Engineering Services at Emhart, retiring in 1985. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Arnold was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Country Camera Club in Berlin. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by two sons, Rev. Dr. Arnold W. Klukas and his wife, Dr. Carol Klukas of Nashotah, WI; Richard A. Klukas and his wife Pamela S. Klukas of New Britain; a daughter, Nancy L. Klukas of Portland, ME; four grandchildren, Christopher, Jeffrey, Kathryn, and Sarah Klukas; a niece and several nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial, with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S.
