Araxie Garabedian

Araxie Garabedian, 86, of New Britain, died Monday, April 1, 2002 at a local Convalescent home. Born in Cyprus, she was the daughter of the late Garabed and Stella Garabedian. She came to this country in 1955 and was employed at New Britain General Hospital for 13 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Women's Guild and a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Surviving are a niece and nephews Bedros and Levon Jingozian of Glendale, CA and Araxie Indjirdjian of Nicosia, Cyprus. She is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews in California and Cyprus and close friends Harold, Alice, and Marion Kevorkian of New Britain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the Church on Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, 1910 Stanley St., New Britain, CT 06053. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
