Antonio Herrera

Antonio "El Machinero" Herrera, 62, of New Britain, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and his special caregiver and daughter Sally. He was the husband of Ernestine Arroyo Herrera. Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Luis and Felicita Velasques Herrera. Antonio has been a New Britain resident since 1970 and had formerly lived in Florida. Antonio was formerly employed at the North & Judd Co. In addition to his wife, Ernestine, he is survived by his children, Sally Herrera and her fiancé Gilbert Ramos of New Britain; Antonio Herrera Jr. and his wife Mellisa of Springfield, MA; and Molly Herrera and her husband Bernardo Soler of New Britain; a stepson, Hector Conde of New Britain; his grandchildren, Gilbert Ramos, Tanayia Herrera, Gilbert Ramos, Sally Ramos, Josh Herrera, Mollina Colon, and Natalia Herrera. He was predeceased by his stepson Dionicio Conde, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
