Anne Solek King, 87, died September 2, 2008 in East Haddam, CT. She was the widow of Raymond King. Born in New Britain she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Zajac Solek. Anne lived in New Britain for 62 years before moving to Westbrook where she lived for 23 years. Her last year was spent at Chestelm Convalescent and Rehab in East Haddam. Surviving are three daughters Eleanor K. Buonafede and her husband Robert of Westbrook, CT and Port Charlotte, FL, Barbara Nanfito and significant other George Ciarcia of Kensington, CT, and Patricia Ingerson and her husband Rodney of Jefferson, NH; two sons Richard R. King and his wife Jeanne of Milton, NH and James King and his wife Odalis of Coventry, CT; two brothers Frank and Walter Solek; four sisters Florence and Jean Solek, Helen Yokubinas, and Sophie Padova; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Anne was predeceased by four brothers Henry, Joseph, Edward and Stanley Solek. Anne enjoyed spending time with her ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and playing cards and Bingo at which she excelled. Her last days were spent in the company of her family. A special thank you to the wonderful staff and administration at Chestelm Rehab in East Haddam for being so wonderful. Anne enjoyed her time there and considered them her extended family. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Church in New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
