Anne Louise Gurr passed away at her home on Thursday December 28, 2023 at the age of 82, after a lovely Christmas with her family. Anne was a deeply devoted Catholic and the founder and President of the Legion of Mary at her church. Before retirement, she served the town of Hamden, Connecticut as a librarian at various branches, and before that the Stamford Library, after working for several years at the Society Library in New York City. Anne was an avid reader who could quote Shakespeare at the drop of a hat and often helped others with their reading or homework. She was devoted to her family and her church, and always ensured everyone felt welcome and loved in her presence. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals, especially dogs, gladly adopting many in her life. She was predeceased by her beloved son Stephen and will be greatly missed by her husband Conrad Charles Gurr, her children John and Barbara, her brother Patrick, her daughter in law Lisa and son in law Steve, her grandchildren Charlie, Hailey, and Melody who were such blessings to her, and her dog Ardie as well as numerous friends and family members.
