Angeliki Kaldes Demos, 99, of New Britain passed away on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Hospital of Central CT, New Britain. She was the widow of George Demos. Born in Playia, Mytelene Island, Greece, she was the daughter of the late John and Marianthy Kaldes. Angeliki has been a long time New Britain resident coming from Greece 72 years ago. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, New Britain. Angeliki was also a member of the Mothers Club of St. George, the Philoptochos Society of St. George and the Seniors Club of St. George. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Emanuel "Manny" and Helen Kocolatos Demos of Manhattan and Shelter Island, NY; a grandson, George Demos of Ronkonkoma, NY; a granddaughter two great grandchildren, Michael and Emanuel Demos; and several nieces and nephews. Angeliki was very proud that her son Manny volunteers as the General Counsel of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and that her grandson George is a Republican Candidate for U.S. Congress in the First Congressional District of New York. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main St., New Britain. Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of America, will officiate, assisted by The Rev. James Bogiatzis. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the church, with a Trisagion service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main St., New Britain, CT 06052. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain is in charge of arrangements.
