Angela Rodriguez-Torres was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico. As a little girl she learned to sew from her older sisters and would take rides to Ponce almost every Saturday. She moved to Connecticut in her late twenties. She became a mother at 31 to her only son Edgardo. She enjoyed going to the beach, dancing and spending time with her family. She worked for the Department of Social Service for 24 years as an Intake/Interpreter clerk.
In her forties she met her soul mate, Israel Torres. They were married for 41 amazing years. Their weekends consisted of waking up early, going for breakfast and exploring Connecticut. Angela retired in her sixties. She later in life enjoyed going to the Casino trying her luck at the slot machines and watching women’s basketball.
Angela passed away quietly and peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Angela is survived by her devoted husband, Israel Torres; son, Edgardo Rodriguez; sister, Julia Rodriguez; brother, Hector Rodriguez; nieces, Edna, Angie, Mildred and Ruth; her nephew, Miguel; her grandnephew Nick; her "grandsons" James and Evan; extended family sisters-in-law Olga and Carmen; brothers-in-law Ismael and Pito; stepson Israel Jr and his wife Maria; and stepdaughter Lisa.
Bibi you were my best friend. I’m eternally grateful that you were my mom.
