Angel B. Yirigian

Angel B. Yirigian, 81, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2018 with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late Sarkis Yirigian.

Born in Manhattan, New York, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Kalajian) Boyajian. Angel is a former Newington resident, moving to West Hartford 6 years ago. A graduate of New Britain High School ('54) and Binghamton City Hospital School of Nursing ('58), she was a nurse for many years tending to patients at New Britain General Hospital, Newington Children's Hospital and the Connecticut Veteran's Home and Hospital in Rocky Hill, retiring in 1997. Angel was a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection where she was a member of the Senior's group and the Women's Guild.

Angel leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Beverly Yirigian of West Hartford; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ivan Simonetti of New Jersey; grandchildren Rachel and Robert Yirigian and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John. The family expresses its sincere thanks for the care and kindness provided to Angel by The Mercy Community (The McAuley and St. Mary's Home) and Masonicare. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, New Britain.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.
