Angel D. Baixauli

Angel D. Baixauli, 90, of New Britain, husband of Conception Baixauli, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at Autumn Lake Healthcare in New Britain.

Born in New Britain, but spending his early life in Denia Spain, he was the son of the late Frank and Angelina (Davesa) Baixauli.  Angel lived in New Britain most of his life, and was employed as a carpenter and general contractor.  He was the owner of Heavenly Home Construction and contributed to many building projects in the area.  He was a member and past president of the Spanish American Cultural Club.  He spent many hours playing dominoes there with his friends.  He was proud of his Spanish heritage, loved soccer and rooting for his home country in international competition.  Angel was hard working and continued to work well into his 80’s.

Surviving are his wife, Conception (Bernal) Baixauli; two children, Aurora Jakubowski and her husband Ron of New Britain, Frank Baixauli and his wife Gina of Avon; a son-in-law, James Roderick of Newington; six grandchildren, Jason, Nicholas, Lindsay, Alexandra, Jamie, and Anjelica; two sisters-in-law, Nieves Perez and Henrietta Bernal; eight great-grandchildren; a cousin, Maria Abad; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Frank and Roseann.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Esther Roderick.

The family would like to thank Autumn Lake Healthcare and the third floor staff, especially Tamara and Jackie, as well as the Masonic Care Hospice Team for their loving care.
