Andrew D. Meeker

Andrew David Meeker, 33, of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 3, 2021.

Born in New Britain, Andrew was the son of Edward “Chip” Meeker and Cynthia “Cindy” (Sandstrom) Meeker of Newington. Andrew graduated from Newington High School in 2006 before attending North Park University.  After taking classes for 2 years, Andrew interned as a program director at Pilgrim Pines in Swanzey NH from 2013 to 2014, where he also took classes at Keene State.  He served as the Interim Youth Director at Bethany Covenant Church from 2014-2015.  In 2016, Andrew joined the Connecticut Army National Guard.  After completing Basic Training, he went on to become a Combat Medic.  In 2021, he completed additional advanced training to become a Laboratory Technician, and was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.  Amid the many colorful aspects of his personality, he is remembered for his love of dogs, hiking, puns, cooking, and ultimate frisbee.  His incredible love of others and sense of humor unlocked the magic of life around him, and brought brightness, strength and joy to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Chip and Cindy Meeker, Andrew is survived by his brother, Major Ted Meeker, U.S. Air Force, stationed in Tampa FL., and many friends from his church, the military, and other interests.
