Amelia S. Irizarry

Amelia S. Irizarry, 98, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Joseph Miguel Rodriguez.

Born in San German, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Jose Irizarry and Maria Jusino.  Amelia was a New Britain resident since 1960 and was formerly employed as a seamstress.  She was a member of St. Mary Church.  Amelia enjoyed bowling, bingo and spending time with her family.

Surviving are four daughters, Victoria Andino, Rose Alberti, Elizabeth Pelletier and her husband James Pelletier, and Sophie Rodriguez; two sisters, Rosa Irizarry and Sister Esther Irizarry; many grandchildren (special thanks to Daniel, Joseph and Nelly Andino); and many great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at St. Mary Church.  Entombment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Calling hours are Monday at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, from 9 AM to leaving for church.
