Amelia Cales

Amelia (Jimenez) Cales, 73, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Oct. 12, 2020 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain with her daughter by her side.

Born in San German, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan Jimenez and Maria Luisa Santana.  Amelia was a New Britain resident since 1970 and was a member of Divine Providence Parish, St. Joseph Church.

Surviving are her beloved daughter, Rebecca Cales and her partner, Greg Wiktorek; two sisters, Sara Cancel and Rosaura Jimenez; five grandchildren, Alexis Cales, Anthony Cales and his wife Lexi, Sincere Jimenez, Ava Cales, and Kevin Wiktorek; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Dawkins, Silas Totty, and Pete Cales.  She was predeceased by her husband, Felix Cales, and by two sons, Randy Cales and Kevin Cales.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at Divine Providence Parish, St. Joseph Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Visitation will take place on Friday morning from 10 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
