Alvin C. Diedricksen, 86, of New Britain and Madison, beloved husband of Elva Rund Diedricksen, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at the Hospital of Central CT at New Britain General. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Theodore and Edna Lassen Diedricksen. Al was a US Coast Guard Veteran of World War II. He was a New Britain resident for over 60 years and was formerly employed at Pratt & Whitney division of United Technologies and later as a musician and teacher, before retiring 30 years ago. Al was a member of South Church in New Britain. He was a former president and member of the Kensington Camera Club, the Hammond Organ Club, and the Newington Amateur Radio Relay League his call letters were W1GFE. He was the president of the Cleveland Brown Backers of CT and was the "Former Mayor" of Center Beach in Madison. In addition to his wife Elva, he is survived by a son, Glenn and his wife Sigrid of Madison; two grandsons, Derek Alexander and his wife Elizabeth, Dustin Alvin and his wife Dawn; and a great-grandson, Jonas Paul. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Erwin Chapel at South Church. Following a reception at church, burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
