Alice Kouyumjian Kevorkian, 82, of New Britain, widow of Avedis A. Kevorkian, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at The Reservoir in West Hartford. Born in Khartoumn, Sudan, she was the daughter of the late Asadour and Marie Loussarian Kouyumjian. She was a New Britain resident since 1951 and was formerly employed as a seamstress at American Bazaar. She was a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, where she formerly sang in the choir. Surviving are a son, Richard Kevorkian and his wife Debby of New Britain; two daughters, Hasmig Cannata and her husband Joe of New Britain, and Marie Gleason, of Stafford Springs; a sister, Arsho Melkonian and her husband Simon of Florida; her sister-in-law, Hilda Kouyumjian of New Jersey; ten grandchildren, Alyssa, Michael, Matthew, and Katie Cannata, Scott, Keith, and Daniel Kevorkian, Tara, Eric, and Jonathan Gleason; a great-grandson, Ayden Kevorkian; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St and at 10:00 AM at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Calling hours are Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home, with a prayer service to be conducted by Rev. Fr. Kapriel Mouradian at 7:00 PM.
