Albert J. DePinto, 94, of Newington, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Arbor Rose of the Jerome Home. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary (Julian) DePinto. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Pasqualina (Manoffi) DePinto. He was a former New Britain resident moving to Newington in 1969. He was formerly employed at Landers, Frary & Clark and Macristy Industries and has also been self employed as a painter and wallpaper hanger. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Men's Club at church. He was an honorary member of the VFW Post 511. Surviving are his son Daniel J. DePinto, Sr. and his wife Carol of New Britain, his daughter Diane J. Smith and her husband Fred of Amherst, MA; seven grandchildren, Daniel J. DePinto, Jr. of Newington and his children DJ, Jon, Nick and Alanna, Corrine DePinto and her husband Dave Slomski of Newington and her children Carla and Angela Messina, Jeffrey DePinto and his wife Michelle of Newtown and their children Jeffrey Jr., Alan, Danielle and Caroline, Paula Abbatiello and her husband Michael of Southington and their children Michael, Anthony and Roseanna, Mark DePinto of New Britain and his children Chris and Ally, Keith Piorkowski and his wife Christina of Rocklin, CA and their son Beckett, and Alison Schnabel and her husband Brian of Corpus Christi, TX and her son Tyler Thomas. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, John DePinto and his wife Janet of Watertown, Rose Kelly of Southington, Ceil Sisson of Plainville, Betty Zita of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Louise Tufano, Anna Conti, Pauline Catalina, Angeline DePinto, James DePinto, Marion Goodrich, Harold DePianta, Margaret Sorrentino, George DePinto, Louis DePinto and Jerry DePinto. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. Calling hours are Sunday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
