Adam J. Dickon, 90, of Kensington, died peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005. He was the widower of Margaret Renn Dickon. Born in Hartford, he was a Kensington resident most of his life. He attended the University of Connecticut receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a Master's Degree in Science in 1957 and was a member of Eta Kappa Nu Association.. He was a U.S. Veteran of World War II, serving in the Merchant Marines as a Chief Communications Officer. Adam was employed as an electrical engineer at Hamilton Standard division of United Technologies before retiring. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in New Britain. He enjoyed his hobby as a ham radio operator and was a former member of the American Radio Relay League. Adam was an avid reader and football fan. He was a loving father and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. Surviving are two loving daughters, Martha Hart and her husband Richard of North Granby, and Ruth Capuano of Riverton; four devoted grandchildren, Heidi Paonessa, Nicole Paonessa, Joseph Paonessa and Christopher Capuano; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in New Britain. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours are Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain.
