Abismael Rivera Ramirez

Abismael Rivera Ramirez, 66, of New Britain, CT died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at home.

Abismael was born in Lajas, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Andrea Ramirez and Victor Rivera. He worked for General Electric, Plainville for 37 years.

Abismael is survived by his wife, Maria (Cancel) Rivera; his two sons, Abismael Rivera Jr. and Michael Rivera of New Britain; his three daughters, Andrea Flaherty and her husband Brian of Florida, Joanne Rivera and her husband Jorge Lopez,  and Jadalee Rivera all of New Britain; his three brothers, Ramon Rodriguez of New Britain, Victor Rivera of Pennsylvania, and Jesus Rivera of Puerto Rico; ten grandchildren, Gabriella, Hector, Aylamari, Jevon, Heaven, Jaykob, Faith, Hope, Michael, Mathew; three great-grandchildren, Jayden, Angel, and Isabella, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his sister Nelly Rivera.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Calling hours are Wednesday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
