Arthur Lincoln Carlson, 87, of Cromwell, husband of the late Shirley Melander Carlson, died peacefully with his daughter by his side on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell. Born in Stratford, CT, he was the son of the late Arthur and Rose Swanson Carlson. He was a long time Farmington resident before moving to Cromwell in 1984. He was formerly employed as a Government Defense Control Auditor and was a US Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a long time member of Bethany Covenant Church. Surviving are two sons, Rev. Gary H. Carlson and his wife Pauline of Japan and James A. Carlson of Watertown; a daughter, Nancy Lancaster of N. Kingston, RI; a sister, Virginia Anderson of Cromwell; five grandchildren, Adam Carlson, Andrew Carlson, Benjamin Lancaster, Nathaniel Lancaster, and Samuel Lancaster; a great-grandson, Lochlan Carlson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill St., Berlin, CT 06037.
